Farming on Leased Land
This is Jacob McCowan, the founder of EarthRun Farm. My farming journey began at Berea College where I completed a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture and Natural Resources. Upon Graduation, I went on to work and complete apprenticeships on several incredible farms throughout Appalachia to learn and make lasting connections. Towards the end of 2022, I returned home to Frankfort Kentucky to pursue a career in Agriculture and work towards starting up my own farm operation. When given the opportunity to farm on the Jane Julian Farm, I created EarthRun Farm, a small pasture Poultry and market garden operation. Since it's founding, EarthRun Farm has grown exponentially in its food production, community engagement, diversity of product and Stewardship of the land. There is still lots to come for us but mostly we are so lucky to be farming and feeding our local Frankfort and surrounding communities
